Our Program

Our Pack members live and roam the country sides and rolling hills of Neffs, Pennsylvania, near the town of Schnecksville on route 873. Our sponsoring churches are Neffs Union United Church of Christ and the Schnecksville Union Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Our ranks are filled with highly enthusiastic Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos and Arrow of Lights (Boys and Girls Grades K-5). They rely on our dedicated Volunteer Akelas and their parents for their wisdom, authority, and leadership to work along the path of Cub Scouting.

Meeting Times and Locations

We typically meet two Fridays a month at 7pm at the Union Evangelical Lutheran Church 5500 PA-873, Schnecksville, PA .

We also meet for community activities on the weekend! A calendar of events will be posted in advance. We encourage you to mark your calendar so that you can join us at all of them!

Pack Activities

Here at Pack 57, our goal is to teach our scouts using positive methods that encourage learning and especially around having fun! We focus our teaching on the development of using teamwork, leadership, building character and establishing confidence in our Scouts.

Grade-Level Groups

A Cub Scout Pack is made up of six dens, which are age-level groups. Each den has an adult Den Leader and an Assistant Den Leader. Leading the entire group of children, or the pack, is the adult Cubmaster along with Assistant Cubmasters. These leaders ensure a quality program for the Cub Scouts. Additionally, every child-facing leader is required to complete Youth Protection Training (YPT) and renew it every two years. The pack meets once a month, and the Cubmaster and Assistant Cubmasters lead the monthly pack meeting, which includes games, skits, songs, special guests, ceremonies, and award presentations.

Dens:
Lion – Kindergarten
Tigers – 1st Grade
Wolf – 2nd Grade
Bears – 3rd Grade
Webelos – 4th Grade
Arrow of Light – 5th Grade

Dues and Fundraising

At Pack 57 The total cost per scout is approximately $160 per year. The Pack raises funds from our Popcorn Sales, Bake-Off Auction and Pinewood Derby Food Sales, and other methods of fundraising to cover the difference

Each Scout will have their own scout account. The money your scout raises from your personal popcorn sales/fundraising will go in your scout account. You can use your scout account to pay for scout events and supplies such as LV Phantoms Tickets, iron Pigs Tickets, Camping Gear, Summer Camp Fees, etc..

Cub (Council and Pack Fee Total) – $160

Cub Scout Uniforms

The Cub Scout uniform is an essential part of the Cub Scouting experience.

“Class A Uniform”
This Cub Scout Uniform can be purchased at the Minsi Trails Scout Store, located at 991 Postal Road, Allentown, PA. We recommend purchasing the Blue Uniform and the associated patches to go with it (Store employees will help you select the right patches!). Accessories include shorts, pants, belt and hat which our optional for our Cubs. The Class A Uniform costs roughly $75 with associated patches (The Scout Store can sew on your patches too!). Cubs would wear this uniform at Pack meetings as well as other ceremonies and award banquets unless specified otherwise.

“Class B Uniform”
This Cub Scout uniform is our Pack 57 red T-Shirt. This shirt is to be worn during Pack activities and will also be specified.

Remember, wearing the uniform symbolizes Cub Scout identity and promotes a sense of unity within the pack.

Stay Connected

At Pack 57 we do most of our communication through Email as well as a Communication app. Using these resources will put you in direct contact with the appropriate leader. Please ensure you are on our Pack email distribution list and that your scout’s Den Leader has the best contact information for you.

Volunteers

Our Pack cannot run without the help of volunteers. We rely on dedicated volunteers to create a positive experience for our young Scouts. On average a volunteer in our Pack dedicates 1 hour per week toward their duties. We can use the help in both leadership and behind the scenes positions.

Volunteering with Cub Scouts allows you to make a positive impact on the community and create lasting memories for young Scouts!

Scout Events

We fill our Pack calendar throughout the year with many fun and family friendly events and activities such as: Day Hikes, Campouts, Pool Party, Child/Parent Bake-Off, Halloween Party, Scouting for Food, LV Phantoms Scout Night, Christmas Party, Skate Night, Pinewood Derby, Blue and Gold Banquet, Iron Pigs Campout and Summer Camp!
